What is a multi use headset
Will they work with my office phone too?
Most headsets that are specifically designed for computers and VoIP applications will not work with office headsets. There are some models that are designed for both USB connectivity and normal office applications such as the GN Netcom 9350 which is a great headset for anyone looking for the crossover.
If you do want to cross over with a standard office headset (either corded or wireless) you will need to buy a specific USB adaptor. They transform your office headset into a computer headset. It's great for Skype, teleconferencing and much more.
How does a computer headset connect to a computer?

What is a multi-use headset?
A multi-use headset, as the name implies, allows you to use the headset for different applications. For example, the Jabra GN Netcom M5390 allows you to use your headset for PC gaming, listening to music as well as making VoIP phone calls through services like Skype. Other headsets such as the Voyager 510S, allow you to use your headset on an office phone as well as your mobile phone for use on the road.
