Simply Headsets FAQ

1. Will all wireless headsets work with my office phone?

In most cases, a wireless headset will work with any office phone. You just need to consider what you want your headset to do, and what wearing style you prefer (see question 4 for more information on this).

If you simply want a wireless headset to use while working at your desk (non-remote answerable), all you will need is the wireless headset.

If you would like a solution that lets you answer and end phone calls from the headset itself while you are away from your desk (remote answerable), you will need either a handset lifter or an electronic hook switch (generally not included with the headset). This is the most common and most effective way to use your wireless headset. Check out the most popular wireless headsets.

See our complete range of Wireless Headsets here.

2. Will all corded headsets work with my office phone?

Corded headsets work with most desk phones, either through the use of an adaptor cable or an amplifier (not included with the headset). Please note though, some phone handsets will not work with a corded headset. Therefore it’s often best to go with the wireless option. Why not take a look at our most popular corded headsets.

We will need to do some compatibility checks on your phone handset to see which is the most effective method of connection, so please make sure you have the make and model of your handset (eg. Avaya 5410, LG Aria LDP7024D) available for our Headset Expert. This information is normally found on the base of your handset or in your handset manual.

See our complete range of corded headsets here.

3. What type of headset do I need for my mobile phone?

The most common type of headset for most mobile phones is Bluetooth. These headsets connect wirelessly through the Bluetooth software installed in most modern mobile phones. Some are even able to connect to your mobile, PC and desk phone (ask our Headset Expert to tell you more about this). Check out our most recommended mobile phone headsets.

4. What is the difference between wireless and Bluetooth?

Visit our wireless v Bluetooth page for more information on this topic.

5. What is the most comfortable wearing style?

Wearing style for many people is a personal choice, but here are some pros and cons to help decide which is best for you.

Over the head: Over the head is a very comfortable and secure wearing style. Many people who use headsets for extended periods of time choose this wearing style. Staff who are going to be away from their desk or moving around a lot (often receptionists) also favour this wearing style because of its security. The most popular headsets in this style are the Plantronics WO300, Plantronics CS351N and GN Netcom 9120 headsets. In ear: Over the ear is a much more discreet (and often more modern) looking design, but there are some drawbacks. This style is sometimes less secure than an over the head design, and we have found that many people who wear glasses find that this style actually pushes their glasses out of alignment. The most popular headsets in this style are the Plantronics WO200 and Plantronics CS70.

Over the ear: Similar to the in ear style, but with a hook that goes over the ear for added wearer security.

If you’re still not sure which wearing style is for you, don’t worry! We have many headsets available which can be worn in both over the ear and over the head styles. This means that you can wear the headset in whichever style suits you best from hour to hour.

6. How are your prices so low?

Because Simply Headsets is an online store, we escape many of the overheads that competitors with physical shopfronts have to contend with. As a result, we can pass these savings on to you, the customer. We also buy in bulk direct from the world’s leading manufacturers, to get the very best prices possible.

7. Is my headset covered by a warranty?

Absolutely. All our headsets are covered by a minimum 12-month manufacturer’s warranty. For full information please read the manufacturers warranties located on the official Plantronics, Sennheiser and GN Netcom sites.

8. How can I pay for my headset?

The quickest and easiest way to make payment is via credit card, either online (via our secure checkout facility) or over the phone. If you would rather make a direct bank transfer payment, simply give one of our team a call on 1300 889 728 and we will arrange a pro forma invoice for you. Please note, however, that your goods will not be dispatched until payment has been received.

If you have any further payment-specific enquiries, please give our friendly team a call to discuss.

9. What happens if I order the wrong product?

You don’t need to stress if you order the wrong product or if it is not compatible with your handset. Our team is here to help! We offer a 14-day satisfaction guarantee, which means that if for whatever reason you are not happy with your headset choice, you can return it and swap it for a new one.

10. Is my headset easy to set up?

Yes, and most come with instruction manuals to help you get started. However should you have any issues whatsoever, simply give our team a call on 1300 889 728. We’ll go through some troubleshooting steps with you over the phone and get the headset up and running fast.

11. Do you provide a bulk order discount?

Simply Headsets already guarantees Australia’s best pricing on Plantronics, GN Netcom and Sennheiser headsets, but a member of our friendly team would be more than happy to discuss a bulk order purchase of 10 units or more. Simply give us a call on 1300 889 728 to discuss.
