In Brief
Poly's update of the hugely popular 8200 series (8210, 8220. 8240, 8245) connects to deskphone, PC and mobile. Available in 3 wearing styles, mono, stereo and convertible, The new base with LCD (not touchscreen) display is the same as the 7400 Office series (launched at the same time), the only difference between the 2 series is the headsets themselves.
The 8400s use the exact same headset as the 8200 series. The stereo (8420) has Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) in the earcups and all have a good noise cancelling microphone with Poly's close conversation limiting technology. The convertible model, 8245 comes with a battery charger and quick swap spare battery so will never run out of juice.
To make either series hybrid friendly, just add a BT700 dongle to work from home, then use the base unit for all 3 connections when in the office.

MS Teams Certified vs UC Quick guide If you plan to use your headset (when on the computer) mostly with Teams, get the Teams version. If not (and particularly if you plan to use with a softphone), get the UC version. If your version isn't available, give us a call and we'll check if a different variant will impact you at all.
A bit more detail MS Teams certified headsets come out of the box with some additional shortcuts or notifications when Teams is running. They are compatible with Zoom, Googlemeet and most softphones. They're just best buddies with Teams. There are no compatibility issues, you may just want to answer a softphone call and find your headset trying to open MS Teams. UC or Unified Communications headsets will also work with all programmes. It will be certified for major softphones. It WILL work with Teams, you just may not see those extra features that a Teams Certified version would give you. NB The ability for a headset to offer remote call control when used with a softphone (answer calls from the headset) is based on coding that needs to be built into the softphone. This usually also needs an app from the headset manufacturer to be downloaded for a settings change to be made to the headset.
