Jabra Pro 9450 Wireless Headset - Lync & Skype for Business
The Jabra Pro 9450 is the big brother of the very popular Jabra Pro 920. This model comes with an earhook in the box and allows you to switch seamlessly between desk phone and computer. While it’s not as good-looking as the sexier 9460 and 9470 models, it’s a great value option if you’re moving towards unified communications in your office.
Jabra have made the Jabra Pro 9450 Wireless Headset suitable for Lync and Skype for Business as well
as all major Softphone clients.
This model is popular in call centres because it’s a fantastic all-rounder with great call quality, comfort, and an impressive battery life and range. If you’re looking for a step up from the more basic headset with computer integration and innovative sound technology, then the Jabra Pro 9450 could be the perfect fit for you! Also if you're replacing an old GN9120 or GN9330 this will be closer to the sound quality you're used to than the Pro 920.
The Jabra Pro 9450 is a staff pick because it’s simple to use, it has two wearing styles (so it can suit more than one user in the office), and it offers great value for money for a headset that’s desk phone and PC compatible. It’s a popular choice for call centres, and that’s probably because of the features we mentioned above, plus the fact that it offers up to 10 hours talk time, and Jabra even boasts having a 150 metre range. That’s HUGE, but remember - this distance decreases with walls, doors, and other technologies that might interrupt it’s path.
Several technologies enable Jabra PRO 9400 Series headsets to deliver unrivaled call clarity and safety. State-of-the-art noise-canceling technology, plus advanced Digital Signal Processing, eliminates a LOT of background noise, so your voice can always be heard clearly (and you can hear your caller over the general office noise). With Wideband sound, you can be sure that every sound you hear will be crystal clear, but you’re also protected from sudden, unexpected noises with SafeTone technology. If there’s a loud jarring sound, SafeTone will cut it off and secure safe average sound levels for your ears, all day long.
A little secret is…
Because the Jabra Pro 9450 can connect to your computer, a super-awesome little bonus is that you listen to any music you’ve got saved on your PC through the computer mode on the headset. As soon as a call comes in and you pick it up, the music will stop, and when you hang up the call, all you have to do is touch the computer icon on the screen and it will start again. We sure think it’s pretty cool that staff can listen to their own music quietly and discreetly throughout the day.
But remember, as with ALL wireless headsets, if you’re looking to answer calls away from your desk you’ll need to buy a remote answering device or RAD. Just add the headset you pick to the shopping cart and follow the prompts to make sure you get the right device for your model phone.
As we mentioned earlier, the 9450 doesn’t have the sexy touch screen of the 9460 model, which means that setup isn’t automated. If you’re specifically out to find the sleekest, most top-of-the-line technology, the Pro 9450 is probably not what you’re looking for.
Unfortunately, the Jabra 9450 won’t connect to a mobile phone, so if you’re getting a lot of inbound calls coming through via your mobile phone, you’re better off looking at the multi-use Jabra Pro 9470. .
You’ll find it hard to beat this headset when it comes to bang for your buck value, great sound quality, and computer integration. There are definitely better looking and exceptionally higher sound quality options out there, but this little beauty does what it says on the box, and we think it does it for a great price.
Other Headsets You Should Consider Before Buying
If you don’t need computer connectivity the Jabra Pro 920 is better value. The Sennheiser Sennheiser D10 Phone is a fantastic mid range option and still has 2 wearing styles.
If you do need to use your headset with phone and computer, want the best quality and like that Bang and Olufsen styling, check out the Sennheiser DW Office & DW Pro 1. To add mobile phone connectivity to the mix, check out the sexy Jabra Pro 9470 or one of the Plantronics Savi W700 series. The Jabra Motion Office works on all 3 devices AND works with your mobile out of the office.
