Jabra have announced that their Engage 65 and Engage 75 DECT wireless headsets have been certified by the Australian Certification Authority (ACA) of the Australian Signal Directorate (ASD) for secure wireless conversations. What that basically means is that these headsets meet the strictest security requirements in Australia. The Jabra Engage 65 and Engage 75 are currently the only secure headsets listed on the Common Criteria's Certified Product's list and the only wireless headsets on the market that uses AES 256-bit encryption.

This level of encryption was unable to be broken by the ASD and provides Government agencies and Commercial enterprises absolute assurance that their conversations are secure when using these headsets.

This is great news for high risk industries such as government, military, intelligence and financial, where the security of communications are critical to avoid sensitive information being compromised by a cyber attack.

The Cost of Cyber Crime For Businesses

With cyber crime on the rise, it's a challenging and costly issue for businesses to deal with data security breaches. Especially as companies are relying more on digital communications and increasingly working from home and remotely, where security risks become higher. Cybercrime has increased by 44% in the last four years and has cost each business impacted by $7.5 million on average. If you work in a company that handles personally identifiable information, commercially sensitive information, or other confidential data, then you and your company are taking a risk by not choosing a secure DECT headset such as the Jabra Engage 65 and Engage 75.

With the Jabra Engage 65 and Engage 75 becoming ASD certified, the issue of headset security is tackled head on and provides organisations with a fantastic wireless headset option that meets the highest level of communications security.

What is the ASD?

The Australian Signal Directorate (ASD) is part of the national security infrastructure in Australia and is Australia's foreign signals intelligence, cyber security and offensive cyber operations agency. Its main purpose is to defend Australia from global cyber threats.

How Jabra Engage Headsets Protect Your Conversations

The Engage series belong to the DECT wireless family of headsets, which are already known for having the best security available for wireless headsets. DECT security levels are categorised in steps A, B, C, with each step offering increased security. The Jabra Engage 65 and Engage 75 go beyond step C to achieve the highest level of security and encryption of any headset on the market. That's right, when it comes to security, the Jabra Engages go to 11.

Jabra’s Engage 75 and Engage 65 provide solid security in three steps:

Pairing

Pairing is a physical bonding of the base unit and headset. Jabra has patented ‘physical assisted pairing’ to increase security. The Jabra assisted pairing method occurs only when the headset is docked in the base unit, and a secret link-key is then formed when the two pair.

Authentication

At the start of the call, encryption is used to set up secure Authentication between the Engage headset and its base. A link is established using a secret key-link formed in the pairing (without this, the headset and base unit will not work together). This means that a non-paired headset cannot be used with the base unit. The authentication link is also protected by encryption. The better the encryption level, the more secure the established link.

Encryption

In calls, the audio signal between the base unit and headset transports data, which is secured via Encryption. The higher the encryption level, the better the protection of data. With Jabra Engage, the encryption link is renewed every minute to make decryption more difficult.

All the above work together to improve the protection of wireless connected headset calls at a category-leading level.
