What size room is suitable for the Meeting Owl?
The Meeting Owl 3 and 4+ perform best in rooms up to 4.5m x 6m with a ceiling height of 3m. For larger rooms, consider adding the Expansion Mic or pairing multiple Owl devices.
Can I mount the Meeting Owl on a tripod?
Yes. The Meeting Owl includes a standard 1/4-20 tripod thread, making it compatible with most camera tripods. Be sure to use a screw no longer than 8mm (5/16") to avoid damage.

How does the Owl know where to focus?
Owl Labs uses proprietary Owl Intelligence System™ (OIS) software to detect active speakers based on motion and sound. It automatically adjusts framing and zoom to spotlight the person talking. For larger or dynamic rooms, pair the Owl Bar with a Meeting Owl for full front and centre-of-room coverage.
Can I connect an external speaker to the Owl?
No - using external speakers can disrupt the Owl's audio tracking system, causing it to focus inaccurately during meetings.
Can I control the Owl's camera from my computer?
Yes. Use the Camera Lock feature in the Meeting Owl desktop app to manually adjust focus and framing when needed.
Can I use external microphones with the Owl?
External mics are not recommended, as they may interfere with the Owl's sound detection. However, you can expand the mic range by adding the Expansion Mic or pairing two Owl devices.
