What’s happening to the Jabra Engage 65 and 75 headsets?

The Jabra Engage 65 and 75 headsets are being discontinued and replaced by the new Second Edition (SE) series. This change is in response to new EU regulations requiring USB-C ports for charging. Only the ports on the headset and base station are being updated; the connection to your PC remains the same.

What’s changing with the SE series?

From a performance and design perspective, nothing is changing. The new SE series retains the same exceptional performance and design as the original Engage 65 and 75 models. The only difference is the port type, which is transitioning from Micro USB to USB-C on both the headset and base station.

Are the bases interchangeable between the original and SE versions?

No, the bases are not interchangeable. The SE series bases use USB-C and are incompatible with the current Engage 65/75 headsets. If you want the flexibility to swap between bases, ensure you purchase the original Engage 65/75 models while stocks last. Spare or replacement headsets for the original series are expected to run out soon, so act quickly if you need one.

Are the accessories compatible with both versions?

Yes, all accessories such as headbands, ear cushions, EHS cables, and handset lifters are compatible with both the original Engage 65/75 and the new SE series. These accessories will continue to be available, regardless of which version you use.

Can I use the current Engage 65/75 headsets with the new SE versions in conference mode?

Yes, you can mix the original Engage 65/75 headsets with the SE versions for conference mode, but you will need to use the undocking method to pair them.

Here’s how to connect additional headsets to a single base:

  1. Undock the primary headset.
  2. Power off the additional headset by holding the call button for 4 seconds.
  3. Press and hold the mute microphone button on the base station for 3 seconds. The conference LED on the base will start flashing.
  4. Put the additional headset into pairing mode by holding the call button for 5 seconds until the status LED on the headset flashes blue.
  5. A voice prompt will play in the primary headset. Press the call button on the primary headset to accept the additional headset into the conference.

Once paired, the audio will be shared between the headsets. Note that additional headsets are muted by default and can be unmuted as needed.
