The MB Pro 2 UCML is a duo style (2 earcups) Bluetooth headset for mobile phone and use with PC (via USB dongle). It has excellent quality voice sound in both directions and an ULTRA noise cancelling microphone. It is certified for MS Teams and works with all softphone (call control from the headset is soft phone dependent so if this is a feature you require contact us or your softphone provider to check compatibility).

What does 'Certified for MS Teams' actually mean? ... Excellent question!! It means there are a few Teams functions pre-programmed into the headset.  Eg The ability to launch Teams on your desktop directly from the headset.  Also if you're on a mobile call using the headset,  it will change your 'presence' in Teams to unavailable.  Additionally, if you have technical issues and call Microsoft for support with the programme,  they will troubleshoot a Teams Certified device like this as part of the problem.  That is not to say they'll offer overall tech support for the headset -  EPOS and Simply would do that. Unlike most manufacturers, EPOS|Sennheiser make this headset in the Teams version only, so it will work with Teams and all other softphones - no need to decide now which is the most relevant to you - EPOS has you covered.

This is not a good headset. It's a great headset!

The range is advertised as up to 25 metres (your device needs to support BT v4)The ultra noise cancelling will amaze you. The MB Pro headsets are specifically built to help reduce background noise; the long microphone boom and super-clever tech in microphone eliminates car road noise and air conditioning fans and noisy colleagues. Bear in mind that this is for your caller, not you. You could be at the beach or in a crowded office and still sound like you have the penthouse corner office.

The headset can be charged with or without the stand so it's nice and portable for travel (for a few days or more - it does have 15 hour battery life after all!). However if you want to keep the charge base in one place and travel regularly we suggest getting the CH20 spare power cable as it's a bit of a faff to take the cable out of the stand all the time. With up to 15 hours of talk time you have plenty of charge to get you through the day if you're you are on the phone all day long.. The MB range also come with Sennheiser fantastic rapid charge feature which gives you a 50% charge in just 40 minutes and a full charge in 2.5 hours - this may sound like a lot but keep in mind it has double the standard talk time of most headsets.

The MB can pair to up to 8 devices and stay connected to 2 devices at a time so you can be having a Teams call on your tablet, then quickly pop them on hold with the headset and answer a mobile call coming in on your phone - all using the headset controls. Or you can transfer a headset call back to your mobile if you want to take it off headset.

The Sennheiser MB Pro 2 UC ML is a dual over the head style headset. If you want the option of a mono headset go for the MB Pro 1 UC ML. If you don't need to connect to a PC, check out the MB Pro 2. It comes without the stand or the dongle. Like all Sennheiser headsets the headband comes with a little area that can have a name tag, so headsets can’t be accidentally mistaken if you have several of them in an office environment.

Like the vast majority of Sennheiser products, this headset features ActiveGuard technology to make it G616-compliant. G616 is an Australian OH&S guideline created to protect phone users from loud, potentially harmful noises. These ‘acoustic shocks’ are transmitted down phone lines as a result of electricity spikes, weather conditions, transmission faults and the like. Failure to comply with G616 guidelines can result in fatigue, anxiety or temporary/permanent hearing loss, but Sennheiser’s ActiveGuard means you’ll be protected whenever you are using your headset.

To bear in mind

The MB range isn't voice activated. That said, you can use it in conjunction with Siri or S-Voice to control your phone or of course just tap the headset to answer or release calls (and much more). It does have voice prompts and tones to tell you what's going on with the headset and a battery meter for iPhone users. This is not a small and discreet headset! It's designed for comfort and call quality, not everyone will feel comfortable walking down the street with it on so you need to consider where you'll be using it and get the right headset for your situation/sensibilities. Whilst this headset will work fine with an Apple computer or Macbook, The headset firmware can only be updated via a PC. Firmware keeps the headset working at its best and in rare instances, NOT updaing can cause the headset to lose features or stop working with some devices (when those devices have a big update). If you have access to a PC every now and then, no worries, but if not you may wish to consider other brands.

The Verdict

The Sennheiser MB Pro 2 UC ML is an almost unbeatable bluetooth headset. The only reason you would change to the MB Pro 1 UC ML is if you want a monoaural (1-ear) wearing style.

Other Headsets To Consider Before Buying

The Jabra Evolve2 range is fabulous and the Evolve2 85s additionally have Active Noise Cancelling to help the wearer block out background noise. They look more like headphones than a more traditional office headset.

If you are looking for something a little smaller in the Sennheiser range but with the same great call quality the EPOS | Sennheiser Presence Grey UC Bluetooth Headset is a fantastic headset. Alternatively if you don’t want to go with a Sennheiser another worthy contender is the Plantronics/Poly Voyager 5200 UC Bluetooth Headset - for those looking for something a little more discreet this is an over the ear design like the presence but still quite different in their design.
