In Detail
If you're after earbuds that actually hold up in a work setting, not just for tunes on the go, the EPOS Adapt E1 is the real deal. They're not just "work-friendly" like some others claim to be. These are certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex and Google Meet, and they carry Apple's Made for iPhone certification - which means they've been specifically designed to work with iPhones and meet Apple's performance standards. However, they work perfectly fine with Samsung and other Android phones too. The hybrid ANC does a solid job of blocking out distractions when you need to focus, and the earbuds already passively block a fair bit of ambient noise just through the fit. There's also an ambient mode that lets you hear what's going on around you, great for when you're working from home with others around or navigating your commute.
Comfort-wise, these are hard to beat. EPOS put in the work with their IntelligentFit™ tech, analysing over half a million ear scans to make sure the shape works for a wide range of ears. The semi-open design means you don't get that blocked-up, pressurised feeling some earbuds give you. They come with four different ear tip sizes made from soft silicone too, which helps with both comfort and noise isolation. Music sounds great on these - no surprise from EPOS - and mic quality is impressive for in-ear earbuds. While a boom mic will naturally offer better performance as the mic is right next to your mouth, the Adapt E1 still does a great job of cancelling out background noise and avoids picking up ambient sounds like music unless it's quite loud.
Battery life is another area where they shine. You'll get up to 14 hours of listening from the buds alone (10 with ANC), and a total of up to 50 hours with the charging case, which is more than any other earbud in this class. Running late? A quick 5-minute charge gives you an hour's use. Plus, the case is slim, magnetic, and even wirelessly charges. Oh, and there's space for the USB-C dongle inside - clever touch. Speaking of dongles, it's great that these come with one, as it makes pairing with your PC simple - just plug it in and the earbuds connect instantly with no fuss.
That dongle also ties in nicely with the Adapt E1's flexible connectivity. You can pair with up to 10 devices and stay connected to two at once, so switching between your phone and your laptop is seamless. Pairing to your mobile is just as easy - press and hold the button on the charging case, and the earbuds will show up in your Bluetooth settings. Tap to connect, and you're good to go. You can also download the EPOS Connect app on your phone or computer to update firmware, tweak sidetone or ANC settings, and fine-tune your EQ preferences.

EPOS IntelligentFit™ is an ear fit analysis tool that predicts an optimal earbud shape based on AI and a database of over half a million ear scans. It combines a database of ear scans with physical testing and deep anatomical knowledge. Then advanced mathematic models and comprehensive machine learning predict an optimal earbud shape. This software enables EPOS to optimize the earbud shape to achieve excellent comfort, a stable fit and exceptional acoustic performance.

How can I check the battery status?
The LED on the outside of the charge case shows the battery status of the case. The LED inside the case shows the battery status of the earbuds. Both LEDs will show green, yellow or red indicating the battery status. The earbuds provide a “low battery” warning at 10% and 5% remaining battery and can be charged three times using the charge case.
Does the ADAPT E1 support fast charging?
Yes. 5 minutes in the charge case will give you 1 hour of listening time.
Is the battery replaceable?
No, the battery is not replaceable.
Can I use one earbud without the other?
Yes, the earbuds can be used individually or together, and can be charged separately to prolong your listening time.
How do I control the earbud features?
You can control the earbuds by single-, double-, and triple-pressing or holding down the tactile buttons on both earbuds. The right earbud is a multi-functional button and the left earbud controls Microsoft Teams, active noise cancellation and ambient mode. The default features are play/pause, skip forward, skip backward, and toggle ANC/Ambient mode. You can re-map these via EPOS Connect on your PC or via the EPOS Connect mobile app.
What other features are available?
- Wear-detect sensor: This automatically pauses music if one earbud is removed. You can turn this off in Settings.
- Wireless charging: Charge the case wirelessly (compatible with Qi chargers)
- Presets: Select one of the presets in EPOS Connect to customize the sound to your preference.
Can I use the ADAPT E1 in the rain or when I work out?
Yes. The earbuds have an IPX5 rating, which means they are resistant to water splashes, rain, and sweat.
Does the ADAPT E1 have Ambient Mode?
Yes. You can switch between ANC off, ANC on, and Ambient mode by pressing the tactile button on the left earbud for 2 seconds.
Does the dongle fit inside the charge case?
Yes, you can store the dongle inside the carry case, which has a magnetic lid to ensure that it stays securely closed.
What should I do if I lose an earbud?
If you are still connected to the earbud, use the above Find my earbuds feature to locate it. If you have paired your device via Google Fast Pair, say “Google, find my device” to see where you were last connected to the earbuds. Otherwise, contact your local EPOS representative or EPOS customer service.
