What is a DECT Wireless Headset?
Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications. You can see why we go with DECT. Basically, it’s technology that allows devices to communicate wirelessly without being connected via cables. Yes we get it, sounds like Bluetooth right? But with DECT, you connect to a base unit that receives signals from another device, such as a cell phone, and then relays those signals to a headset or speaker. Techy right? How does DECT technology actually work?
DECT phone systems can seamlessly roam between base stations without affecting call quality or interrupting service. These systems utilise a technology called Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) to enable mobile devices to switch frequencies rapidly to avoid interference from other wireless technologies. FHSS also allows multiple users to share the same channel simultaneously. So let’s put it into layman’s terms… if you’re working from home and want long range, low interference (imagine accidentally dropping in on the kids playing Minecraft while trying to close that multi million dollar deal.
