The Jabra PRO 9460 is cousin to the wildy popular 9470. It has the same sexy touch screen technology, same great sound and comfortable wearing options, however this model is deigned to work with computer & deskphone only.

It’s sexy, futuristic and a veritable wolf in a supermodel’s clothing. And as far as the brand goes, Jabra is one of the established market leaders so you can’t fault this headset whichever way you turn.

The Good

The GN Netcom 9460 offers an unparalleled array of features and wearing styles, so where do you start?

Is it the leading 11hour talk time? How about Jabra’s 2-microphone noise blackout technology for exceptional noise cancelling? What about the amazing 150m reception range offered by the latest DECT 6.0 technology? And all this underlying the fact it connects to your mobile, computer and office phone at the same time. Finally there’s one headset for everything in and out of the office!

A little secret is… because the Jabra GN Pro 9460 can connect to your computer it means that any music you have saved on your PC can also be listened to through the computer mode of the headset. Having some personal music to listen to quietly and discreetly is a great little bonus for staff. As soon as a call comes in and you pick it up, the music stops. When you hang up the call you simply touch the computer icon on screen and the music starts again. How cool is that?

And here’s a great safety feature: the Jabra Safe Tone technology allows this to headset be noise-at-work compliant. This protects users’ hearing by cutting off sound spikes and sudden loud noises. Please note this phone is not G616-compliant because you can turn this feature off, but it still offers the ultimate protection when left on. The Jabra GN Pro9460 offers 3 wearing styles: over-the-head, over-the-ear and behind-the-neck (neckband is an optional extra). The headset is incredibly comfortable in any style, which is rather unusual as most manage to only do one well.

Set up is a breeze and it’s as simple as following the Smart Set-Up Wizard on the touch screen. Pull it out of the box and you’ll be using it in minutes. Simplicity itself!

The Bad

Not much really apart from the obvious.  It doesn't work with a mobile phone, so if you get (or may start getting in the future) a fair amount of inbound calls coming in via your mobile you're better off with the 9470.  In terms of value it's a little pricey right now, so if you can't wait for the price to come down, check out the Plantronics Savi 740.

The Verdict

If you like sexy touchy feely tech and don't need connectivity with a mobile phone, The Jabra PRO 9460 is a great option for you.  If you're a brand junkie the Sennheiser DW Office is a must look or if you're in a noisy office, the DW Pro 1 or Pro 2 are out & out winners due to their ultra noise cancelling microphone.  If budget is your key concern, the run out Plantronics Savi range can save you $100+.
