The Jabra/GN Netcom 9330e wireless headset offers exceptional value, wrapped up in a super stylish package! It is the most recent model from Jabra and replaced the 9120 ST, 9120 NC and 9120 midi boom. At the risk of flattering GN/Jabra too much, it’s one of the best looking headsets on the market. If you’re looking to answer calls away from your desk we also recommend you buy a GN1000 handset lifter. This device fits on your telephone base and lifts the hand piece up or down when you push a button on your headset, letting you answer and hang up on calls from anywhere in the office. Paying $300 for the GN 9330e headset would be value in anyone’s language – but at closer to $260, it’s a standout! With an excellent 9 hours of talk time and 120m range, the 9330e is right up there. Plus, unlike the headsets it replaces, the GN 9330e has noise cancelling built in so background noise shouldn’t be an issue at all. If you have a very noisy environment then look to a headset that offers “ultra” noise cancelling (Sennheiser DW Pro 1 and DW Pro 2) With the latest wideband technology, call clarity is also excellent - as you’d expect from a market leading brand like Jabra.

The GN 9330e wireless headset offers 2 wearing styles offers out of the box (over-the-head and over-the-ear). The over-the-head mode is lightweight, comfortable and can easily be worn all day, every day (see the below for more about the over-the-ear style).

The Jabra GN 9330e base station also has a very small footprint on your desk, and doesn’t take up much room at all. In fact, if desk space is at a premium in your office then this particular headset is perfect.

The 2 wearing styles of the Jabra GN9330e headset are a negative as well as a positive. If you’re looking for versatility having these options is great - but if you want to wear an over-the-ear headset all day then the Plantronics CS 70N, and the SAVI WO200 are more comfortable for all day over-the-ear comfort (please note that both these products are being discontinued but are still very good headsets). The latest Plantronics CS540 is on par comfort wise with the 9330e and also comes with two wearing styles.

If you plan on being a bit heavy handed with your headset, the GN9330e isn’t the product for you. It wasn’t purpose-built for call centres to be thrown around (like the soon to be discontinued Plantronics CS351N).

Many customers aren’t aware that the GN9330e will only work with an office phone. It won’t pair to your mobile and won’t work with your computer for Skype or other speech recognition software. For many, that’s not relevant. However, if you’re looking for a headset to work with your mobile, office and computer then check out the GN Netcom Pro 9470 or the GN Netcom GO 6470.

If you want a headset for an office phone and computer combination and don’t need mobile functionality then the GN Netcom 9350 is the perfect upgrade. You’ll be able to use it for things like softphone IP applications, VoIP (like Skype), and voice recognition software such as Dragon Speak 11 and MacSpeech.

For people looking for an over-the-head wireless headset for office use only, the GN 9330e is almost unbeatable. The CS 60 is now discontinued, the cs540 is closer to $300 and the CS351N is being discontinued and it’s about the same money. Spending more gets you almost nothing extra and this stylish, compact, powerhouse has everything you could want. Maybe that’s why it’s so popular!
