Sennheiser Electronic Hookswitch
A Sennheiser Electronic Hookswitch is a cable that connect to your phone handset and allows you to remotely answer calls when you are away from your desk. When a call comes in the Sennheiser wireless headset will beep in your ear notifying you of a call. You then hit a button on the side of the Sennheiser wireless headset and this send a signal to the Sennheiser Electronic Hookswitch to engage the call. You can then hit the same button to terminate the call. This is different from a handset lifter and depends on your specific phone model.
You can’t transfer calls from a Sennheiser Electronic Hookswitch you need to use your handset to use the phones functions.
Lifters are fantastic for IT people, sales people or receptionists who roam around the office. It means they are always contactable. The range of the Sennheiser wireless headset and Sennheiser Electronic Hookswitch depends on the room environment. Sennheiser claim up to 100+ metres but this is typically line of sight and can be reduced dramatically if there is a lot of metal, glass or structures to block and interfere with the wireless headset signal.
