The Sennheiser SH335 builds upon the proven success of the SH230, adding multiple wearing styles and noise cancelling. Although a little more expensive than the SH230, it presents a more versatile, higher quality alternative that makes it the first choice of many customers.

The Good

If you’re on the phone all day, it’s important to make sure your headset fits you just the way you want it. With this in mind, the Sennheiser SH335 features an adjustable metal headband and flexible boom microphone, so you can shape the headset to fit you perfectly. The boffins at Sennheiser have also designed the SH335 to offer not 1 but 2 wearing configurations, to suit your preferred wearing style. For an unencumbered fit, the SH335 can be clipped over the ear without a headband (so you won’t be left with a headband impression in your hair!) or you can reattach the headband for a totally secure fit.

Like the vast majority of Sennheiser products, the Sennheiser SH 335 corded headset features ActiveGuard technology to make it G616-compliant. G616 is an OH&S guideline created to protect phone users from loud, potentially harmful noises. These ‘acoustic shocks’ are transmitted down phone lines as a result of electricity spikes, weather conditions, transmission faults and the like. Failure to comply with G616 guidelines can result in fatigue, anxiety or temporary/permanent hearing loss, but Sennheiser’s ActiveGuard means you’ll be protected whenever you are using your headset.

If you work in a particularly noisy environment (for example a call centre or warehouse) you’ll also appreciate the noise cancelling microphone on the Sennhesier SH 335. The mic actively reduces background noise so that only your voice is transmitted to callers, ensuring clearer communication throughout the day.

The Not-So-Good

Some customers have told us ear loop wearing style on the Sennheiser SH 335 isn’t as comfortable as others out there, though this is always going to be a matter of personal preference. However, if you think you are primarily going to be wearing the headset with the headband, we’d recommend you save yourself a few dollars and go for the single wearing style of the over-the-head Sennheiser SH330.

The Verdict

The Sennheiser SH 335 provides a comfortable, durable and multi-styled headset for everyday use, though some may find the ear loop style uncomfortable. Overall though it’s a great little performer with clear sound thanks to the noise cancelling mic. Just don’t forget to ask us about a bottom cord to suit your handset so you can connect it to your phone!
